About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Static Equipment Draftsman to join our engineering team in the UAE. The role involves preparing detailed mechanical drawings and design documentation for static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other non-rotating equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical drafting skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, and hands-on experience working with international design codes and standards.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
Experience with PV Elite, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar design tools.
Familiarity with project documentation and drawing control systems.
Prior experience working on EPC or Oil & Gas industry projects.
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed 2D engineering drawings for static mechanical equipment based on inputs from design engineers.
Prepare fabrication, layout, general arrangement (GA), and detailed drawings in line with project specifications and industry standards.
Interpret technical specifications, data sheets, and P&IDs to ensure accurate drawing outputs.
Coordinate closely with mechanical and design engineers to maintain technical and dimensional accuracy.
Revise and update drawings based on design changes, reviews, and project feedback.
Maintain drawing documentation, version control, and records as per project requirements.
Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes and standards such as ASME, API, and IS.
Coordinate with procurement, fabrication, and site teams for drawing clarifications.
Assist in preparing Bills of Materials (BOM) when required.
Support engineering activities during client reviews, audits, and inspections.
Prepare drawing-related CRS in coordination with the Design Engineer.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
8–10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical drafting, specifically for static equipment.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D mandatory; 3D an added advantage).
Good knowledge of pressure vessel and static equipment design codes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs.
Sound understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
