Job Summary

The Lead – Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control programs across the healthcare facility. This role ensures compliance with international healthcare standards, minimizes infection risks, and promotes a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC or equivalent preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in infection control within hospitals

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and healthcare standards (WHO, CDC, JCI)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and training abilities
  • Effective communication and coordination skills

Experience Requirements:

Key Responsibilities (15)

  1. Develop and implement infection prevention and control (IPC) policies and procedures
  2. Monitor hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and analyze trends
  3. Conduct regular infection control audits and risk assessments
  4. Ensure compliance with international and local healthcare standards
  5. Train and educate staff on infection prevention protocols
  6. Oversee sterilization, disinfection, and waste management processes
  7. Investigate infection outbreaks and implement corrective actions
  8. Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical departments
  9. Monitor hand hygiene compliance across the facility
  10. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  11. Maintain accurate infection control data and reporting systems
  12. Conduct surveillance and reporting of infectious diseases
  13. Lead quality improvement initiatives related to infection control
  14. Stay updated with latest IPC guidelines and best practices
  15. Ensure readiness for accreditation audits and inspections
