Job Title: Senior Transport Planner
Organization: Centre of Excellence in Urban Transport (CoE-UT), CRDF
Salary Range: ₹12,00,000 – ₹15,00,000 Per Annum
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Role Objective
The Senior Transport Planner will lead technical workstreams focused on the design, analysis, and implementation of urban mobility projects. This role requires a high level of expertise in transport modeling, public transit systems, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable urban policies for state and central government clients.
Candidate Profile
Education: Master’s degree in Transport Planning or Urban Planning (with a specialization in Transport) from a premier institute.
Experience: 7–10 years of professional experience in urban transport projects. Previous experience with government-funded projects or international agencies (World Bank, ADB, GIZ) is highly preferred.
Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and transport modeling tools.
Expertise in data analytics and statistical software.
In-depth knowledge of Indian transport standards and global best practices in sustainable mobility.
Soft Skills: Proven ability to write high-quality technical reports and deliver persuasive presentations.
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Design & Analysis
Lead the development of Comprehensive Mobility Plans (CMPs) and Low Carbon Mobility Plans (LCMPs).
Conduct advanced transport modeling and simulations using software like VISUM, VISSIM, or CUBE to predict travel demand and traffic flow.
Design and evaluate public transport networks, including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Metro, and Last-Mile Connectivity solutions.
2. Project Management
Oversee project lifecycles from data collection and surveying to final report submission.
Ensure all technical outputs align with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
Manage junior planners and research associates, ensuring quality control and adherence to deadlines.
3. Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
Provide technical assistance to urban local bodies (ULBs) and state governments on Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and parking management.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops and present findings to government officials and international funding agencies.
