Odd Culture is a Modern Australian Café, Bakery & Cocktail Bar built around the philosophy of “Modern Traditionalism.” The brand blends traditional culinary techniques like fermentation, sourdough, and bacteria-led flavour development with a contemporary global dining experience—from vibrant brunches to elevated evening small plates.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and highly skilled Executive Chef to lead our flagship Gurgaon kitchen. You will work closely with the Owner/Chef to craft and execute an Asian-inspired, globally influenced menu rooted in traditional techniques. This role demands creativity, technical expertise, and strong leadership to define and elevate the culinary identity of Odd Culture.

Experience Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Innovation & Development

  • Design and evolve a menu combining Australian influences, Asian inspiration, and Indian seasonal ingredients
  • Curate offerings for both high-energy brunch and refined evening cocktail service

Fermentation & Bakery Leadership

  • Oversee in-house fermentation program including sourdough, lacto-fermentation, koji techniques, and pickling
  • Maintain consistency and innovation in bakery and fermentation outputs

Operations & Quality Control

  • Lead kitchen operations for an 80-seat, high-volume service
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and service speed
  • Maintain highest standards of hygiene and food safety

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Manage food costs, inventory, and vendor relationships
  • Optimize profitability without compromising on quality

Team Leadership & Culture Building

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff
  • Build a culture of precision, creativity, and continuous learning

Kitchen Technology & Innovation

  • Utilize modern kitchen equipment and techniques
  • Integrate culinary innovation with beverage and coffee pairings

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 8+ years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong background in fermentation, sourdough baking, and modern culinary techniques
  • Experience in Australian or international hospitality environments preferred
  • Ability to handle diverse service formats (brunch + cocktail bar dining)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with understanding of the Gurgaon market
  • Passion for experimental, bacteria-driven flavors and culinary storytelling
