Job Summary
The Academic Head is a senior academic leadership role responsible for driving the overall academic vision, curriculum delivery, teacher development, and quality of education within the institution. The role acts as a bridge between management, faculty, students, and parents to ensure academic excellence aligned with CBSE guidelines and NEP 2020 frameworks.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities, expertise in curriculum planning, teacher mentoring, academic operations, and performance management within a CBSE-affiliated school environment.

Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Lead the development and implementation of the school’s academic vision, mission, and strategic goals.
Oversee curriculum planning and execution in alignment with CBSE standards and NEP 2020.
Ensure consistency and quality in classroom instruction through regular academic reviews and observations.
Drive innovative teaching methodologies including blended learning, experiential learning, and project-based learning.
Monitor academic outcomes and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Curriculum & Assessment Management
Plan and supervise academic calendars, timetables, examinations, and co-curricular academic activities.
Review and approve lesson plans, assessment frameworks, question papers, and report card comments.
Ensure effective implementation of curriculum plans across all grades and subjects.
Analyze student performance data and recommend corrective action plans where required.
Faculty Management & Development
Conduct regular department meetings and academic review sessions.
Mentor, guide, and evaluate teaching staff for academic effectiveness.
Organize teacher training programs, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
Identify performance gaps among teachers and implement improvement plans.
Student Academic Development
Monitor student academic progress and address learning gaps.
Develop intervention plans for academically underperforming students.
Promote student participation in Olympiads, academic competitions, and enrichment programs.
Encourage a student-centric and inclusive learning environment.
Parent & Stakeholder Coordination
Address parent concerns related to academic performance and curriculum matters.
Conduct academic orientation sessions, presentations, and parent interactions.
Coordinate with admissions teams for academic assessment and profiling of prospective students.
Ensure effective communication between faculty, parents, and management.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with CBSE regulations and academic standards.
Coordinate with external educational bodies and regulatory authorities when required.
Prepare academic MIS reports, performance analysis, and progress dashboards for management review.
Maintain proper academic documentation and records.
Educational Qualifications
Mandatory
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject from a recognized university.
Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.) OR Master’s Degree in any subject with B.Ed.
Preferred
Diploma or Postgraduate Certification in Educational Leadership or School Administration.
CBSE or NEP curriculum training certifications.
Experience Required
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the education sector.
At least 3 years in an Academic Coordinator, Subject Head, or Academic Leadership role.
Strong experience in curriculum development and teacher mentoring.
Prior experience in a CBSE-affiliated school is mandatory.
