TRANSPORT MANAGER

Transportation & Logistics Management

• Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage daily transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Plan transportation schedules, route optimization, and fleet deployment.
• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Sales teams.
• Monitor transportation performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Ensure seamless movement of raw materials, finished goods, and equipment.

Fleet Operations & Asset Management

• Manage the complete lifecycle of company-owned and leased vehicles.
• Oversee vehicle acquisition, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and disposal.
• Ensure optimal utilization of trucks, trailers, buses, forklifts, and other fleet assets.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Monitor fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and vehicle availability.
• Maintain records related to vehicle registration, insurance, permits, inspections, and servicing.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Develop and enforce transportation safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular fleet inspections and safety audits.
• Investigate transportation incidents, accidents, and operational disruptions.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce risks.
• Verify driver licenses, certifications, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the department.

Driver & Workforce Management

• Lead and supervise drivers, transport coordinators, mechanics, and support staff.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation processes.
• Establish driver performance standards and monitor compliance.
• Conduct training programs on:

  • Road Safety
  • Fuel Efficiency
  • Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure workforce discipline, productivity, and engagement.

Financial Management & Cost Optimization

• Prepare and manage transportation and fleet budgets.
• Monitor transportation expenses, fuel costs, maintenance costs, and spare parts inventory.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Analyze transportation costs and operational performance.
• Negotiate contracts with:
  • Transport Vendors
  • Fuel Suppliers
  • Insurance Providers
  • Service Workshops
  • Fleet Management Vendors

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with transport contractors and regulatory authorities.
• Evaluate vendor performance against agreed service levels.
• Coordinate permits, licenses, registrations, and compliance-related activities.
• Liaise with insurance companies, government agencies, and vehicle suppliers.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Develop transportation dashboards and KPI reports.
• Analyze operational data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Recommend automation and fleet management technologies.
• Lead transportation optimization and continuous improvement projects.
• Support business expansion through scalable transportation solutions.
