Primary Responsibilities :
Point Cloud to BIM Conversion
- Convert 3D laser scan point cloud data into accurate BIM models using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM software.
- Interpret scan data and create precise as-built models for architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Ensure correct alignment, referencing, and integration of point cloud data within BIM environments.
BIM Modeling & Development
- Develop detailed Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) models from point clouds and as-built drawings.
- Create BIM models according to project requirements, client standards, and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
- Update and modify models based on project revisions and design changes.
Data Management
- Manage and organize large point cloud datasets efficiently.
- Maintain model accuracy and data integrity throughout project execution.
- Ensure proper storage, referencing, and version control of scan data and BIM models.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Perform QA/QC checks on point cloud data and BIM models.
- Verify model accuracy against scan data and project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with BIM standards, project requirements, and company procedures.
- Identify and correct modeling discrepancies and data inconsistencies.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and technical discussions.
- Support multidisciplinary project teams to ensure smooth BIM implementation.
- Resolve design and modeling issues through effective collaboration.
BIM Standards & Compliance
- Follow BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific BIM workflows.
- Ensure compliance with client BIM standards and international BIM requirements.
- Maintain models according to LOD 300, 350, 400, and 500 standards where applicable.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare project documentation, model annotations, and technical reports.
- Generate as-built verification reports and project deliverables.
- Maintain project records and documentation for future reference.
- Create clash detection and coordination reports.
Clash Detection & Issue Resolution
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks and other BIM coordination tools.
- Identify clashes between architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
- Coordinate with project teams to resolve clashes and improve constructability.
- Track and monitor clash resolution activities.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Support implementation of advanced BIM workflows and technologies.
- Explore automation opportunities using Dynamo and Python where applicable.
- Contribute to improving BIM processes, standards, and project efficiencies.
Experience Requirements:
Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering may also be considered.
Experience
- 2.6 to 4 years of hands-on experience in Scan-to-BIM (SBIM) projects.
- Experience working with point cloud data and BIM modeling workflows.
- Exposure to Architectural, Structural, and MEP modeling projects.
