Primary Responsibilities :

Roles & Responsibilities

Trademark Prosecution & Advisory

  • Handle end-to-end trademark prosecution matters, including filing, examination reports, objections, hearings, and registrations.
  • Draft and file responses to examination reports and trademark objections.
  • Prepare legal opinions, search reports, and trademark strategy recommendations.
  • Manage trademark portfolios for domestic and international clients.
  • Represent clients before the Trademark Registry during hearings and proceedings.

Drafting & Legal Research

  • Draft legal submissions, arguments, notices, replies, and related IP documentation.
  • Conduct legal research on trademark laws, case laws, and IP regulations.
  • Prepare detailed legal opinions and risk assessments for clients.

Client Management & Business Development

  • Attend client meetings and provide strategic IP advisory services.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for expanding client engagements and IP services.
  • Contribute to practice growth and business development initiatives.

Litigation Support (Preferred)

  • Assist in trademark infringement, passing-off, and IP litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, legal notices, caveats, and court-related documentation.
  • Coordinate with counsels and courts for litigation-related matters.

Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with paralegals and junior associates for timely execution of filings and compliance.
  • Mentor junior team members and review legal documentation.
Experience Requirements:

Education

  • LL.B. from a reputed university (NLU preferred).
  • LL.M. in Intellectual Property Laws or related specialization is an advantage.

Experience

  • 4–5 years PQE (Post Qualification Experience).
  • Experience must be from a reputed law firm.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Trademark Prosecution.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in Trademark Prosecution and Registry procedures.
  • Strong drafting and legal research skills.
  • Experience handling trademark hearings and objections.
  • Knowledge of trademark portfolio management.
  • Understanding of IP litigation will be an added advantage.

2. Paralegal – Intellectual Property

Roles & Responsibilities

Trademark Filing & Prosecution Support

  • Prepare and file trademark applications, oppositions, renewals, assignments, and related documents.
  • Maintain trademark records, deadlines, and filing schedules.
  • Coordinate with trademark authorities and clients regarding filings and updates.

Administrative & Documentation Support

  • Raise invoices and maintain billing records.
  • Prepare hearing dockets and case files.
  • Maintain physical and electronic records of all legal matters.
  • Manage correspondence and document tracking.

Court & Registry Coordination

  • Assist in filing caveats and other basic court-related documents.
  • Coordinate with courts, registries, and government authorities.
  • Support lawyers during hearings and legal proceedings.

Execution & Case Management

  • Handle dictation, drafting of basic legal documents, and data entry.
  • Track deadlines, hearing dates, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in execution of day-to-day IP legal work.

Client & Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with clients for documents, signatures, and filing requirements.
  • Support lawyers in managing ongoing matters efficiently.

Mandatory Requirements

Education

  • Graduate in Law, Commerce, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Paralegal certification will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Experience in IP law firms or legal support functions preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to trademark filings and prosecution processes.

Technical Skills

  • Trademark filing and opposition procedures.
  • Invoice management and legal documentation.
  • Court filing procedures and docket preparation.
  • MS Office and legal documentation systems.
