Primary Responsibilities :
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop master production schedules based on confirmed customer orders, delivery commitments, and available production capacity.
- Prepare weekly, daily, and monthly production plans for fabrication, machining, assembly, painting, testing, and dispatch.
- Allocate production resources efficiently to maximize throughput and plant utilization.
- Monitor production schedules and revise plans based on changing priorities and customer requirements.
- Ensure on-time completion of manufacturing projects while maintaining quality standards.
Material Planning & Inventory Management
- Prepare Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in coordination with procurement and engineering teams.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, bought-out components, and consumables.
- Monitor inventory levels and minimize material shortages that impact production schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors and purchase teams to expedite critical material deliveries.
- Optimize inventory levels while reducing excess stock and carrying costs.
Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate with Design and Engineering departments for timely release of:
- General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
- Fabrication Drawings
- Assembly Drawings
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Verify BOM accuracy and resolve discrepancies before production commencement.
- Ensure engineering revisions are communicated promptly to production teams.
Shop Floor Management
- Coordinate activities across:
- Fabrication
- Machine Shop
- Welding
- Assembly
- Quality Assurance
- Stores
- Dispatch
- Prioritize jobs based on project schedules and customer commitments.
- Monitor production progress and identify bottlenecks.
- Resolve production issues through effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure adherence to production processes and quality standards.
Project Execution & Monitoring
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) across all manufacturing stages.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of manufacturing activities.
- Conduct regular production review meetings.
- Identify production delays and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) schedules.
ERP & Process Improvement
- Utilize ERP systems for production planning, inventory tracking, and job monitoring.
- Maintain accurate production data and status updates.
- Develop planning dashboards and management reports.
- Recommend improvements to production planning systems and workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and efficiency enhancement.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare:
- Daily Production Reports
- Weekly Progress Reports
- Monthly Production Dashboards
- Capacity Utilization Reports
- Material Shortage Reports
- WIP Reports
- Present production status and project updates to management.
- Maintain documentation related to production planning and project execution.

Experience Requirements:
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC).
- Experience in Engineering Manufacturing, Heavy Fabrication, or Process Automation industries.
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end production planning.
- Strong exposure to project-based manufacturing environments.
- Experience coordinating with procurement, design, production, and quality teams.
Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
OR - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
