Primary Responsibilities :
- Job Description: Reports to: Tool Room Manager / Mold Assembly Manager
- Job Responsibilities:
- As a Mold Designer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities
- Design injection molds according to verbal instructions and Engineering drawings
- Comply with QSR, ISO, SOP's work rules and safety guidelines
- Meet schedules and maintain quality standards
- Understand, Mold Design/Engineering instructions, ISO, QSR, work rules and safety guidelines
- Conduct design concept meetings, design review meetings, and kick-off meetings with shop personnel and the engineering team
- Interface with mold shop, programming, quality control inspection, coworkers and upper management in order to maintain open communication
- Insist that team members follow: Safety rules, manufacturing instruction, work rules and other manufacturing guidelines
- Communicate with Engineering, coworkers and Manager/Director to maintain team concept
- Work with design team and Mold Design Supervisor daily to meet very tight deadlines and maintain the production schedule
- Maintain open communication with mold shop, programmers, quality control and planning
- 100% support of the Mold Makers, Programmers and department Supervisors on a daily basis
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
- Position Requirements
- This Position Requires The Following Skills And Attributes
- 3 years or more of work experience related to mold design
- Minimum of a high school graduate
- Must have an above average understanding of Mathematics and a strong mechanical aptitude
- Must have working knowledge of CAD software, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must possess working knowledge of MI's, QSR, ISO, SOP's work rules and safety guidelines
- Must read, write and speak in Chinese; Good level of English is a big plus
- Must have strong verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Must possess a technical and hands-on approach to problem solving
- The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Strong SolidWorks or other software skills are a plus
- Medical/electronic parts manufacturing experience helpful but not required
- Certificate from any technical training institution or college a plus

Experience Requirements:
- Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
- Knowledge of tooling and fixture design for automated production lines.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping technologies such as 3D printing.
